Description:
This Monel and white porcelain sideboard was made by Ransom Barton Co. of Philadelphia around the turn of the last century. Monel predates stainless steel as code for restaurant equipment. Monel is 70% nickel and 30% copper with some trace elements It has a very warm finish. This piece comes from the Schuylkill county prison.legend has it that a notorious criminal associated with the Molly Mcguire's hid in it in an attempted escape.
